    @Chinatown?

    You are in a good location to choose from carriers. If you want tanker or bulk pneumatic Oakley has a terminal in West Memphis. Check them out.

    The I-44 corridor through Missouri has a lot of small carriers and terminals for larger carriers. I found the company that I will hire on with this coming week by searching for "trucking companies" on Google Maps, reading reviews, and doing further research on the internet and on this forum.

    I agree, driver facing cameras can be invasive.
    More and more companies are using them, because the average driving age of an OTR driver is now barely in their mid twenties.
    Science and psychology have proven that , in a nut shell, most dont have any common sense.
    You do have the right, however; to request a copy of all such recordings under the FOIA. (Freedom of Information Act). You're company cannot refuse to provide you a copy of these videos, and if there is anything negative that could impact your driving, you have the right to dispute.
    Ih you are doing your job though, there should never be a reason for you to fear.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

    I'm not an attorney. However, I do know that you have to have the standing to take a person into court. To get those camera's removed will require finding a Regulation, Law or some court precedent that supports your position. This is things more fitting for unions and CBAs. Under the current political climate, I have a serious doubt any serious court challenge that mandates a vehicle owner or person holding that owners power of attorney take one out will get much past that first hearing.

    Only other real option is to simply quit and find another job!

    There are NO protections for using the Federal Freedom of Information act outside of Government. NONE! There might be a hodgepodge of state rules and mandates, BUT NOTHING in the federal FOIA. Save some time. Don't come back with anything but a link proving otherwise.

    Driver facing camera calls for Halloween masks.
    Hillary Clinton one day.
    Homer Simpson the next.
    You get the idea...

    If that stupid lane drifting sensor is keeping you from moving over amd avoiding possible collisions you're a fool!!!

    So lets say I was the boss. You get hit by another driver, but the film obviously shows that you DID see it coming and that you DID NOT take action to avoid the collision (even if collision is not legally your fault) when you COULD have... I'D FIRE YOU!!!!!

    DONT LET A STUPID CAMERA AFFECT THE WAY YOU DRIVE IN A NEGATIVE MANNER!!!

    You did not sign up to be observed 24/7. As soon as you can find a better company that does not have driver facing cameras I would bail. Even Swift does not require driver facing cameras anymore. There are a lot of companies out there that will take you with just six months worth of experience.
