I have a 07 Volvo vnl670 and when I'm heavy loaded 40,000+ my axel will kiss the cross member behind cat walk into the differential....
When my bags are dropped fully the u-joints on the drivetrain will touch that cross member???
I've replaced both torsin arms ...what could it be?? Every mechanic I've talked to is stumped ...pic attached
Drive axel touches frame? Help!!

Not sure the answer but that’s definitely a problem.
newdriver2 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
@nasriza @BoxCarKidd will have a idea. My guess would be loose or broken u-bolts allowed the axle housing to rotate. Has it been like that long?
newdriver2 Thanks this. -
Are there bump stops on the frame? Or possibly a spot were they should be?
newdriver2 and magoo68 Thank this. -
when I picked up a 40,000lb load the axel was close to the cross member and would kiss and touch when i drove it (30 ft after declining the load)
- the axel also touches (in the picture) when the bags are dropped.
- i'm not sure how long it has been like this, i just got the truck a month ago? and I have not had many heavy loads...
- truck drives fine under light load. 70mph all the way, acceleration is good
** I'm thinking maybe someone put plates under the leaf springs on the rear for an alignment? maybe raised the frame? or something to that aspect? -

Were the bags dumped in that pic? I’m not familiar with Volvo’s, but I wouldn’t think it should be that close even if they were.
newdriver2 and flood Thank this. -
