Cfi school recent grads

Little does that poor SOB know that he’s about to get screwed, blued and tattood....
All that training.
All those tests.
All that practicing.
All those background checks.
All that devotion and sacrifice.
All the above just to take home $500-$600 bucks a week.

 

Yea that is true, but if he can endure that gaping hole for 2 years it does get better

 

Aren’t all companies like that? Where the pay starts off very little and eventually goes up? I’m currently looking into CFI a company. Hopefully I hear good things from them unlike C.R. England.

 

Things have changed a little bit since I started. When I started pay was .22 cpm as a rookie. .. I think starting pay now as a rookie is a lot better... so it's like a gravy train now... when I started training pay was $150 a week that's it..

 

When does the pay gradually start picking up? A month? Two?

 

The pay doesn’t really pick up much at most big megas regardless of how much time or experience. Some drivers always take offense to my saying that but think about it logically:
A few pennies (literally... a few pennies) per mile xtra don’t add up to very much. You’ll find out what that truly means as you put your time in.
Realistically, get at least two years of safe driving in and then move up to something like LTL or some other type of local position.

Unfortunately, if you want your experience, you don’t have a whole lot of choices other than to go over to the big mega companies like CFI, Swift, Knight, Werner, Englund, etc. These companies are all the same; one’s no better than the other and they are also well aware of this and they take full advantage by paying new drivers as little as possible; experienced drivers are not paid significantly more than new drivers; at least in my opinion.
Why any driver would stay driving for a big mega beyond a year or two is beyond me but I guess they have settled into a type of ‘comfort zone’.

 

Have you driven OTR before?

 

Yes. And one of the companies that I drove for was CFI.

 

I'm fixin to join CFI once I get my background back.
I was going to join Prime Ink but decided on CFI being that they'll train in a manual transmission.
They are one of very few.

 

That training pay is an embarrassment, holy crap.
