Most of those guys are running single axle jeeps behind heavy 3 axle tractors - as lift axles are not recognized on truck in western Canada.

So their trailer attaches to the single axle Jeep fifth wheel and the single axle Jeep attaches to their tractor fifth wheel.

When they are empty they will slide the entire Jeep up onto their tractor frame rails to lift it off the ground. This makes backing up mucho easier and it shortens their overall length slightly. Hence the term jump it onto the tractor

Mine doesn't "jump" yet. But if you can imagine the tractor 5th wheel slid farther ahead and the Jeep up on the rear frame. That's the idea. IMG_20180808_193519963.jpg

Thanks guys. The set up I had definitely wasn't from the factory, and was pretty cheesy looking. I asked my friend at the Cat house, and he said it wasn't necessary, but he's more of an engine guy than whole truck guy, so I thought I would ask the experts!

I think I may try it without for a bit and see if I can tell anything different in the feel of things. It is much cleaner without it. In regard to the Brakesaver, it is well mounted to the back of the engine, and the transmission bolts are long, going clear through the brakesaver, and also thread into the back of the engine, so the tranny is not just hanging on the brakesaver (if that makes any sense).

I always put em back on the bigger transmissions. In my pea brain that aux section is heavy enough it needs some support. But I been known to under do some things and over due others.

Tried out fish city grill. Pretty dang good

Maybe I can find the buggy spring type. They look like they are better built, and maybe have a bit more give to them while still adding support.
