    Not saying it isn't stupid, but oil/gas/coal aren't the only electric production sources.

    No, just the giant majority that have stood the test of time. If you increase the demand you need to increase the supply. Wind, and solar won’t cut it. You’ll need for coal, gas, nuclear and hydro power. All of which are bad depending on which tree hugger you’re talking to.

    Nuclear should be everywhere but pansies and NIMBYs screwed us for generations.

    Well, John Q Public IS quite a simpleton. Trucking regulations were thrust into the public thought because of the movie “duel”. Imagine how the feeble minded public reacted to the movie “China Syndrome”. Wilford Brimly was pretty young then. JQP reacts much the same in his comprehension of limited resources and climate change. It’s is scary we think we can keep doing what we have been since the industrial revolution. Ignorance is bliss.

    Speaking as a partial tree hugger. What's wrong with converting to RENEWABLE earth friendly sources. As much as is practical? The horse and buggy wasn't replaced all at once. Hell there still in use today.

    Nothing wrong with it, but the notion you can eliminate fossil fuels without dramatically harming the country is a ridiculous. You just cannot supply enough power with wind and solar.

    Nice try;
    No, it’s not about money and power.
    This planet is choking and is in its’ death throes; at least in regards to human habitation.
    Thank God for California’s efforts to do what it can to do its’ share to try to clean things up.
    Too bad that it’s probably too late.

    There's nothing at all wrong with it, but "affordable" alternatives must be found before doing away with current technology, which by the way is what every economy in the world is based on.

    No, it's about money, power, and control. Al Gore has become a billionaire spewing his false narrative. We signed onto the Paris climate accord which would have forced the US to send hundreds of billions of dollars to other countries, and for what? To offset our carbon footprint?

    Hybrid and electric cars have a much bigger carbon footprint than vehicles with internal combustion engines. The destruction to the planet from strip mining minerals, and then having those minerals and chemicals leaking into the environment is much more damaging than drilling for oil or coal mining.

    And if it is not gradually phased in, the economy will be destroyed.
