Yea. I passed a Falcon truck at the guard shack. Got to the dock and when I was inside a co-employee showed me the post on twisted trucker of Falcon closing.
Been trying to verify it since. Thank you.

I still like to find out if there's a legal way to take ownership of your truck if your employer shuts it's doors. Especially if you're knee deep in a lease.
I have the truck, I have the keys and the "owner" has ceased to exist. Can I list myself as a creditor against future income? How about a Mechanic's lien? Even if the truck is actually "owned" by a fleet lease like Ryder/Penske, can I negotiate with them directly? You'd think they'd rather continue to have a source of revenue rather than have their asset tied up in a litigation with a bankrupt non-entity for years.
If it isn't legal now, then maybe we should petition there be a law in the future. This isn't to say former employees can steal anything not nailed down but could be seen as at least a partial investor and at least be allowed to bid on an asset themselves if they have the resources.foggy and jamespmack Thank this. -

They want to be able to sell that truck (and all the company assets) so they know how much they have to pay all the creditors, not just one that, in all reality, is likely a drop in the bucket compared to their other debts.foggy and jamespmack Thank this. -
You need to be towards the top of the debit list. Because when the money runs out everyone else gets fudged. Trust me banks, and large accounts will get there money before a silly 80 or 100k lease, let alone money owed for independent contract labor. Now employees may see money owed. Not small contractors.

Here's a hint. Someone working for Falcon is there because they didn't want OTR.
If they wanted OTR, they would go apply to literately one of the 1000's of companies across the nation that actually pay decently.jamespmack Thanks this.
