Yeah, they dumped their flatbed division, so getting rid of divisions that are a burden.
Seem to be doing ok with dry van and refrigerated division.

Dumped logistics too......looks like they're thinning down in order to just run a trucking company (what the CEO said), or positioning themselves for a sale.

mjd4277, Bean Jr. and Chinatown Thank this.
  4. don't just stare quaking in your boots if you're with Celadon.
any of you folks out there that happened to have Quality companies leased trucks??
yes those lone stars that they screwed everybody on yet again after their first lease purchase didn't have a $53,000 balloon payment any of those ones that you got off of Harding Street to take quality companies that is celadon's leasing in House Company..so you see those guys running around pulling trailers what you see the mud flaps it's a Quality companies yeah if you're one of those ones that went down in front of Celadon home base on Harding Street in Indianapolis that's going to affect you too. so you better be ready and be careful of Celadon goes under there's a good chance you're going to go under too

A little unsolicited advice...take it for what it's worth.
I admire your upbeat attitude and your loyalty to Celadon. Being optimistic is always good.
But...if I was you I think I'd update my resume and be ready to jump if worst comes to worst.
I've been in this business a long time and very seldom, almost never really, have I seen a company come back from the kind of financial setbacks that Celadon has seen. There comes a point when the struggle just isn't worth it anymore and they decide to cut their losses and shut the whole thing down.
I hope Celadon makes it. I hate to see any company go under but all the signs are there.
Stay if you want but I think if I was you and a really good job came along I'd jump at it.
Loyalty is good but loyalty doesn't pay your bills.

Yeah,,,or PIE, CF, Delta, System 99, Western Gillette, and many many more.
That's not counting all the ones like Gordon and Interstate that sold out to other companies at fire sale prices because they were in financial trouble.
I don't know anything about the companies outside of my normal operating area but even with that limitation I can still name a bunch of once good companies with good drivers and good hauls that went out of business.

Bean Jr. and mjd4277 Thank this.
