I feel like everyone should at least learn on a manual so they know how to use it and not get that auto restriction. I don't get those who believe a stick will make you not bored while driving. Where are you driving that you need to constantly change gears?

At least no one will steal your truck if you got two sticks.

Nah, with the way things look, you are worrying too much, focus on learnings the skills of driving and ask for a manual if they have them in the fleet for a future move.

When hauling certain freight I would think to be smoother especially in a city like liquids on an automatic. Though from my experience they normally don't have autos, all that said you don't need to be hung up on auto or manuals. Go to another carrier ever it will be whatever they have. Just focus on your drive time forget everything else.

Lord, lord, I am getting old, but I would hate to know that shifting a stick , especially on an otr truck tired me out. I am thinking it takes a lot more effort to tie a load down, especially if you have to tarp than it would to drive coast to coast on the interstate system shifting a stick. lol

You would be suprised how many are still in use, I even drive one once in a while up here.

    D.Tibbitt and Humblepie Thank this.
