What reason would an agent (that is paid on a commission ) have to refuse to call and solicit business?, could be the customer is not willing to pay the price.

Think about it, this is usually very busy construction time but the weather had not been favorable for construction work. No one is building right now. No one is doing much of anything outdoors because the weather has been horrible. This effects trucking. The market favors shippers and brokers right now cause there's more competition for the freight. We're not going to see overall good rates until this changes. The agents don't want to waste their time putting in low bids cause they know you guys aren't going to haul it.
You won't do any better going to another company unless you are going to haul specialized freight.Last edited: May 8, 2019

Oh and get it right, where i said i got 3 a mile was a thread about rates being discussed by independents, owner ops leased to a carrier and a broker or two. We were discussing freight rates, not ttt. -
