2.93 a mile. Truck pay. Just under 500 miles. No tarp. So that's what? 3.75 a mile billed to the customer?
Over 1200 bucks to the bank after fuel on a relatively easy day. But I'm sure that's just crumbling cookies, cause all these agents are just lazy and won't book freight.
Edit to add: it ain't just one load. Its a regular customer with excellent rates.Last edited: May 9, 2019

I was just in southern Michigan monday. There was a dozen loads matched to me paying over 2 a mile.
While i might no longer need to run 50 weeks a year like some guys. When i work, i work. You won't find me sitting waiting for the perfect load.
As for being a company advocate, anyone that pays attention knows that ain't true. All the big agent based all owner operator companies are basically the same. Landstar, bennett, admiral merchant, mercer, etc. There is very little difference between them and they all got their issues and bs. Right now my preferred flavor of bs is mercer but the day may come that i prefer landstar or bennett bs.roshea Thanks this. -
I almost took a load down to Florida I figured I'd jump on that $3.00 freight spyder is pulling out of Miami. Then I looked at the load board and the ONLY 2 loads out of Florida paid .99 going to Golden, Colorado and $1.05 going to Connecticut with 2 stops on it...
Spyder you better stick to fishin cause your BS you spew on here is just that.PoleCrusher Thanks this. -
And for the rest of the story....
Both of those are partials. What about lakeland to Houston for 1.68? To cheap for me but a far cry from a buck a mile.roshea Thanks this. -

1. If you are having trouble covering the freight you got, adding more into the equation just makes it harder.
2. If the customer is not willing to pay a decent rate.
Most of our agents are pretty darn good. But we do have a couple that are content with the few customers they have locked down. They don't go after more freight cause they don't want to be in a position that they can't cover their bread and butter loads. I don't blame them for this, a core of customers with steady year round freight that have stuck with you for over a decade is every brokers wet dream. So ya we got a few agents not out hustling more freight, but they are in the minority.
I see cj's customer has had a load on the board all week paying almost 5 bucks a mile ttt and they cant cover it. So obviously there is money to be made today, but its not gonna fall on your lap like last year. Its gonna take effort and brain power. Study that load board and learn who the good paying customers are and the pattern of when their loads hit the board.Last edited: May 9, 2019
