Better for us to do it than paying an outside carrier more for unreliable service. Stores shouldn't take long to unload you unless they are just terrible altogether. But if rather deal with live unloads at stores than the nightmares of driving during the day. Worst things i deal with typically are the occasional drunk or sleepy drivers and deer.

I used to run Walmart dedicated for two years with one of the Megas. I ran nights, meat and produce mostly. So im used to it. Prefer it. It was definitely heaps better than this otr crap.

The only thing deterring me from applying is I only have about six years driving experience and everybody keeps telling me that's on the low end to really be considered even though the app says something like three.

If you have six years and a good record, they WILL hire you. You have way more than needed.

I got hired with 3 years total experience 2 years ago. Still probably the youngest driver in the fleet. But i still teach even the most senior drivers a different perspective and other knowledge. Apply asap brother and good luck.

I've decided to go for it. Couple questions.

    1. Does Walmart offer any kind of relocation bonus?

    2. Can you go to orientation in Bentonville and then put two weeks notice in at current job before going to your DC? Or do you have to quit before you even know if you're hired?

    3. The physical at my current job required us to climb a ladder three times and lift a fifty or 75 pound box to eye level. Is it about the same deal? I'm a small female and getting the box to eye level was difficult, but doable. Just want to make sure it's not heavier than that.

    4. How is Walmart about weather delays? Do they push you? Also if you're slip seating in a daycab and get stuck out in a snow storm or something, what happens?

    5. Do you think it's realistic to expect to take home around 5k/month?

    6. If I already have a vacation booked and paid for, will they work around that or will I end up having to cancel?

Thanks in advance. All I have is my phone and it's hard to search through everything looking for these answers.

    3. No lifting in physical
    4. You are captain of your ship.
    5. No but mid 4's is doable
    6. I had to cancel a 2 week cruise I had booked before I applied
