The bundles will settle after you tighten them and jiggle down the road. With a snap binder it's a lot simpler process to grab a link than it is to loosen a ratchet binder once you've run out of thread travel tightening them for the third time.

I sincerly hope none of you get hit in the face with a snap binder. A good friend of the family lost a couple teeth to one and this guy was an A-game lowbedder. Hauled equipment for 30 years. So don't get too ####y there folks because karma and complacency are both a big #####.

LOL...Just don't do what one guy did and forget to throw the rest of the wrappers. He took the load all the way from the woods above Chico to the mill in Anderson that way...including crossing the north bound Cottonwood scales...and nobody ever noticed. He was waiting in line to unload and a yard man jumped him for pulling his wrappers before he got to the stanchions. That's when it dawned on him what he'd done. In his defence, it was the last load of the day and he was tired. But....still a bad deal.
We won't mention any names.Lepton1, Oxbow, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
One of the places I haul logs out of, it is 35 miles to the pavement, and I have hauled many loads to the pavement with no wrappers at all. These are long logs and do not go past the stake extensions though.
Are you guys using wrappers with fid hooks. I can usually tighten mine at the loader and not have to retighten at all, maybe one every 8 or 9 loads, I will have to tighten.Oxbow Thanks this.
