Be Free of Truck Stop Showers

Mmm, IDK. wipe down the floor of your truck with a wipe, or paper towel and whatever cleaner. And then go over it again with a bucket of water and a sponge or washcloth/rag and see what the wipe missed. You really need a bit of water to pickup the dirt instead of just spread it around, again it depends on how often you choose to rinse out the "washcloth".

It might be good for hikers that don't want to pack around a bunch of water with them. it's not really an issue for us. Just carry around an extra gallon or two of water. warm it up in the sun, coffee maker, or hotplate and dump it in a basin. can even use your own soap or even a loofah.

 

Maybe. Things you forget about running flatbed out west in the desert with no place to stop, at least that you don't have time to stop for.

Sorry, there are no substitutes for scrubbing in a shower or a hard piped toilet. Why are we reverting to 3rd world hygiene?

If you have showers available, you can get a shower in your 30 min break. I do it all the time. For this method to work, you gotta have showers at Pilot/FJ or TA/Petro and find a truck stop with lots of showers (8+) and that is not busy. That way the shower will be available when you get there. I use TA/Petro, and since almost nobody has showers there, I never have to wait.

 

Nope, not always. Murphy's Law says it's going to be "shower time" and it will take 45 minutes for the shower instead of the 15-20 it should only take. thats if you don't wait for 20 mins for the shower because someone wants to read a book while sitting on the pot in the shower... you can't afford the extra 15+ minutes it is going to take or you will be late.

That’s why you have to be fast and only take a shower. So no shaving, brushing your teeth, etc. My routine is a quick 1-min truck inspection, shower, and then grab a couple corn dogs or a sandwich. I’m ready to go in 30 or sometimes 35 min. You get better at it the more you do it. I used to believe it couldn’t be done, but I made it happen. Again, make sure the truck stop has 8+ showers and isn’t a truck stop that’s usually busy or in a city. Also, reserve the shower on your phone as soon as you enter the truck stop.
