I bet I got you all beat.
The first time I ever chained up, was the day before christmas eve in Laredo Tx, I sweated up a storm getting them chains on. lol
I was at the old pilot and had somewhat of a crowd standing off watching me before I finished. lol
Finally one guy walked over and ask if I knew something they didn't. lol

    Joppa at the shop there.

What a day that was. Chain school.

Ultimately I learned on my own playing with the mess of Cable Tire things that Mr Dowdy hung on my FLD 120. I found that they had the little rollers that slipped in that snow. Hung all of them back up on the stack hook, and ran barefoot just like Ive always done on US 322.

My tahoe has a suit of tire chains from austria for ice purposes. It will only know how to go in one direction full 4x4 and don't know how to stop; what with the once every 15 year ice storm we get... it's a poor investment.

    We just stay home.

I-25 in Colorado; i had to watch another driver first.

Then, after i got it done. i think it took 45-90 mins., the chain requirement was lifted.

    Welcome to trucking......

Donner’s Pass on the shoulder of the highway not too far into California after BoomTown. I think it took me 90 minutes that first time.

was just listening to that song 2 days ago with my dad coming home from a fishing trip in Prince Rupert BC. we were both laughing remembering listening to that song on our trip moving a drilling rig up to the Yukon in 1976 shortly after it came out.

"Earl grabbed onto the shifter and stabbed her into fifth gear. Then the chromium-plated fully illuminated genuine accessory shift knob
come right off in his hand."
