I do not know if this is a bad company or not. I do not know anything about them.
There must actually be something pretty good about them in order to keep their drivers going and putting up with the 60 mile-per-hour governed trucks they have. I see them all the time going up 287 out of DFW and it gets to be a real problem in Oklahoma and Colorado where 287 turns into a two-lane road and you get stuck behind them for hours at a time.
It just seems you would think that with a name like Raider Express, they would be on the outlaw side of trucking with a truck that goes as fast as the driver wants.
Have you ever come across Raider Express Fort Worth Texas?

they're rolling road blocks.
I see them all the time going from Houston to dallas.
Seems like every time there's a 5 mile backup
For a slow vehicle,
When you finally get thru the wall to wall traffic,
There they are, the always dirty red Volvo's of
Raider express, ####ing everything up.
And there spread out 10 miles apart all the
Way to dallas.bentstrider83 and FearTheCorn Thank this. -
They used to be outlaw pre 2005 when they were a small company. They ran triple digit speeds and probably realized it wasn’t in their best interest for survival to keep running like that. Raider has grown quite a bit over the last decade. They are the slowest trucks on the road but I don’t mind them one bit. My truck is governed at 71 and 68 mile an hour trucks no longer back off a bit to allow a pass in a timely manner. Those days are over apparently.
bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
I know one cut me off so bad he was about an inch from hitting me this was in fort worth couple months ago...

30cpm to their drivers when I talked to them. They're a starter company. Kinda glad I avoided them. Not sure how a reefer driver governed at 58mph and 30cpm can make a decent living.
Need4Speed Thanks this. -
Lol , the company recommended speed of 53-55 mph all over Texas with a max speed of 60mph.
Even prime drivers hate themaustinmike, bentstrider83, FearTheCorn and 2 others Thank this. -
God they are the worst . slowest trucks on the road, been behind my fair share of them driving in the middle of 3 lane on i35 when its no trucks left lane . i never mind prime drivers, yeah they are slow but i have never met an unprofessional prime driver. Raider express on the other hand....

Heyyo! First post! I am THE Dreaded Raider Express driver slowing you down up & down 287 & clogging up the middle lane on i35 all the way down to San Antonio.
All kidding aside, I'm a new driver currently in the middle of my 28 day OTR w/ a trainer. First of all, I'm having a blast in this new found career of trucking after a 21 year coaching career. Secondly, after a lot of research & some inside scoop from friends with knowledge - I chose Raider Express because of the FREE CDL schooling & training & it was local to me out of Fort Worth, Tx.
Ill correct @ASO476 - Raider pays $.38cpm on all miles (with raises to $.41cpm within first year) plus fuel bonuses up to $.06cpm. There are some additional Bonus Tiers which can get your overall pay newr or at $.54cpm which along side a nice Benefit package sounded like a great opportunity for a first year driver like me. According to my trainer, running 55mph loaded & 53 empty assures the fuel bonus to the max level. I have to agree as all 3 weeks we have been over 10.6mpg (9.9 is the max).
Yes, the trucks are governed at 60mph as well.
Trust me, as a RE driver I hear everyone complaining about it too but it is what it is. As a new driver, I will tell you it is stress free to set the cruise on 55mph & get in the right lane & watch the world pass you by lol.
Anyways, I've been lurking for a few weeks on the forum just soaking in advice from many of you as I learn the ropes of the trucking industry & how to back for godsake. I may have made a real breakthrough this week as I have nailed my last handful of attempts.
Thanks for bringing Raider Express up & hopefully I won't cause you much problem OTR. I was thinking of tracking my journey on the forum as I'm sure I'll make all the rookie mistakes & go thru growing pains along the way.Need4Speed, Vic Firth, bzinger and 3 others Thank this. -
Lmao ^^^ You kind of sound like a recruiter .
I will say a positive thing about this company though ; the cdl training really is free. There is no contract or any obligation to stay after getting your training & CDLCoffey, GladhandSW and motocross25 Thank this. -
I know a few here & there that are just getting their CDL thru the school & have promised opportunities elsewhere.
I'm hopeful to be a trainer in a short time & move up the food chain a bit.
