No gliders are not going to be illegal, unless you are referring to California. Even in California you are still allowed a small number of miles per year with a glider.

I know you did not mention Fitzgerald Glider, but I will throw this in for someone who is considering buying a glider from Fitzgerald. Do not buy a Fitzgerald Glider that they built the engine. If it comes from the engine manufacturer as a rebuilt engine then you are safe. Fitzgerald has a terrible engine rebuild reliability issue due to mismatched parts and using cheap non OEM parts. Ask any Detroit shop what they think about a Fitzgerald built engine.

I agree with you for sure. One company near me, bought 4 new Pete's. 12.7's. 3 of the 4 have been nothing but trouble. Buddy of mine does the work on them. And 3 of the blocks are the old 11.1's. There build to 500HP without piston coolers. And so many mixed parts its unreal.
2 bad heads out of the 4. And a lot of other issues, that stem from there building the engines.

You are confusing the ruling. The gliders that are already built and on the road will be just like all the older non emissions trucks left in the world. They are safe and will not be taken out of service.

The no glider ruling is actually no more new units delivered or built after X date

That might be what the Rep was telling Deere4020 at MATS. My truck is a Glider, never heard anything about it being side lined anytime soon.
