Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

No, he didn't make a study of anything. He put his ### on a seat, that's all.
And studies that are performed to prevent drivers from becoming invalids in later life, are a waste of money?? How silly can you be.

 

If those are good scientists, they spend the most amount of time interviewing and studying drivers who have driven for decades with no ill affects, and asking their opinions. The stupid scientists think that they can come up with the answer void of any empirical data. That may be required when trying to go to Mars, but a simple study of those who actually do the task that they are studying will yield far better results than trying to reinvent the wheel. And to say otherwise is completely and utterly ignorant.

 

I guarantee you that if he " puts his ### on a seat" and is uncomfortable at the end of the day, that he will try another position the next day. The answer may also be to vary the position periodically throughout the day. It is not rocket science, and it is none of your business how any of us choose to sit.

Now tell me, just how is a study going to prevent a driver from becoming an invalid, are you going to legislate seat position? Put a tattle tell in the truck if the seat is not high enough? Sheesh, stop and think for a moment. I know this is a very foreign term to you, but it is called common sense. If it hurts to hit yourself in the head with a hammer, don't do it again. If you are in pain at the end of the day, try a different position. It just isn't complicated.

I can see seat manufacturers investing some effort into seeing what is and is not preferred, but beyond that it is just plain dumb. So they have been studying this for years and years and have yet to come up with an answer? What, is the human anatomy changing that fast? Come on man, you are not going to dictate how a driver sits in his seat, so beyond being able to give new drivers advice on what posture is likely to provide the least amount of problems, what is the point? And owner operators are entitled to have and use whatever #### seat that they want to pay for, and to sit in it however they like.

Don't you have something better to do than to blab on and on about something that you have no ability to change?

 

Oh great. Now a truck driver is going to tell scientists how to perform scientific research. I suppose you had a 10 year study at the Trump university of advance scientific studies.

 

Oh great. Now a Internet scholar is going to tell truck drivers how to drive and sit in their truck.

 

Nope, I was raised by a brilliant scientist, who taught me to look at the obvious before trying create wisdom from thin air. He was the head of his department at one of the most prestigious universities in the country, and later became the Dean of the Graduate School and Vice President of Research at another University. Unlike many of his colleagues though he had an inordinate amount of common sense and an ability to find solutions rather than to perpetuate self-righteousness and produce bull ####.

You didn't answer just how you intend to implement this vast array of knowledge. So please, enlighten us lowly truck drivers on how you will mandate our posture.

 

I think the whole thing is a laff riot. I could really give a #### less about SAE seat standards. Just seemed like a topic that needed exploring and I figured somebody would be up to googling it.

 

Thank God you didn't watch a YouTube video on nuclear reactor building, or you would be an expert on that subject as well.

Also I'm still waiting for the response to the original seating discussion, about how lowering the seat dangerously limits the view of the road. Did you miss my previous reply to you?

 

It started cause he saw a picture of a pete with a drop visor and made some nonsense statement about how the visor forced the driver to lower his seat which reduces visibility so bad he is going to be killing school children all day everyday. I posted pictures of a drivers real view with the seat lowered all the way and in typical caesar fashion he has changed the topic.


Oh and while im here, i caught up on the months paperwork. I'm at 7.8 mpg so far this month. So much for all his talk about a big square hood, air cleaners and exhaust pipes making fuel cost prohibitively expensive.
