Lots of my rate cons from small brokers show signs of being double brokered. I see it all the time and wish I could un-see it. It only p*sses me off.

Look close at your paperwork (rate con/bill of lading and sign in/out sheet) at shippers and you'll often see evidence of big 3PLs. Yet another price we pay.

We have no idea how many times some of these loads have been passed down through the system by the time it gets to us.

Yeeeah. I hate that ####. Finding out I've been double brokered is one of a handful of things that takes me from easy to deal with and turns me into a rat #######.

True story, some of the Convoy loads I've pulled have been obviously C. H. ROBINSON loads, complete with a Robinson BOL.

I was just wondering...looking at those p.o.s. rates by both Convoy and Uber lately, if there is a possibility that they can show different rates to different people? Some say that they see great rates here and there, while I must be blind seeing none. Otherwise, their A.I. algorithms must have concluded that I must be a cheap fellow. I start disliking those apps, to put mildly.

I'd suppose that it's certainly possible. I couldn't tell you how that all works, though. I haven't done any computer related studies in about fifteen years, beyond just some general stuff to make sure I'm keeping up on things.

It's entirely possible, all they have to do is put your login into a group that shows lower rates. You will be shown whatever information is assigned to that group.

If you can think it they can write the code to do it and that's exactly what they do, squeeze every cent possible.

I have no doubt they do that. Heck, a broker can see what they paid you on the last load for a particular run.

I've had several try and use that as the basis and leverage for what they'll pay. No matter if the lane is up 20/30% or not.

Had that happen to me just yesterday. Guy tells me, "Shipper won't pay that right now." I had quoted him 30% above the last load.

He calls me back 30 minutes later and all the sudden the shipper could pay my rate.
