I have always kept my 1year cards current. Some of you know but had 3 of the best specialists look at the my left foot. Here is the verdict.

Either something is pinching my perineal nerve or it just stopped responding . Nothing was hurting my left foot was just numb and I couldn’t move it. And still can’t that caused me to I roll it and the only non numb spot was hurting like hell. turns on I chipped my ankle.

The biggest concern is the nerve. So I go back in for a nerve test. If they can’t get it to respond I’m looking at surgery in a year if. The other methods don’t work
So no way in hell I would pass.

That's common in hands...nerves get pinched up the elbow. A neurologist will find where it is pinched very quickly...minutes...the longer you wait the less chance of a good outcome. Don't wait friend...best of luck to you.

    Yes what road rooster said.
They will do a nerve conduction study.
Put some pins in and hook up electrodes to them and they will find the compression quickly.

See if you state allows you to self-certify or select exempt intrastate. This will keep your CDL current, but you will not be able to actually drive unless you were working for a government agency that is exempt from the medical certification.

At least this way you will not have to restest all over, my wife has held onto here CDL this way for years without any issues in PA.

Health is kore important, but if there is an option to keep the license while healing Inwould take it if I were in your shoes. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Brian991219 said what I was gonna say. Self certify and keep CDL. Its easier to keep it and not use it that it is to get it back if you let it lapse and need it again in the future.
