Idk try it and drive away and tell us what happens , make sure to get somebody to video tape it and make sure to do it with 48k in the box all loaded in the front of the trailer

Robot trucks are taking over next week so don’t worry about it.

I always pull the release first and then crank the landing gear down. Tractor and trailer brakes are set, so they're not going anywhere. Parking on somewhere not perfectly level might mean I can't pull the release and have to move the tractor just enough to get the pressure off it so it will release.

IDK, I suppose with brakes set, nothing going to happen. I cranked the dollies down, then pulled the pin. Seemed like less pressure on the handle.

    Nope.

    Here is what I do.

Drop landing gears and raise trailer just enough for the air bags to start hissing, once that’s done I pull the release, look and see if lacking jaw has retracted, remove lines, hop in rig and slowly and I mean slowly pull away.

Start from back of the trailer move forward. I already know by the sound of my suspension if it will be a clean break anything less or more I will be struggling with the trailer to to detach.

Also remember by listening to your suspension you know that the landing gears are taking pressure off the rig.

When I attach before I slide under the trailer I make sure the trailer is resting on the 5th wheel. If not you run the risk of the pin sliding over the 5th wheel and damaging.

So slide enough under trailer before catching pin, lower trailer if need be it raise, hop back into truck and attach, check locking jaw, then attach lines, raise landing gear a bit, tug test and raise rest of gears and drive off.

After every stop I make sure I check release, and jaw just in case someone decides to play jokes and also do tug test.
