I purchased 3 trucks so far, my thoughts from my experiences.

    1. in 2003 a used volvo 770/2001 /Det D60 for 70,000$, 420,000 miles , motor warranty to 500k. Was risky to buy a truck like this , quite expensive ,with only 80,000 miles warranty left on motor.

    2. in 2007 a new Volvo 780 2008, for 134,000$, D13 250,000 miles motor warranty.

    3. in 2017 a used volvo 780 2010 for 20,000$ with 1 mil miles, drove it until last year september 150,000 miles, (it paid for itself) when bulgear failed i purchased reman Volvo D13 motor with 350,000 miles warranty. for 30,000$.

I would go again for 3rd option.

how do you do that? That’s what I’m talking about! Never seen a driver with that setup I was thinking of just pulling a flatbed trailer adding a hitch on the back and connecting a car to it like a uhaul truck with both a car and boat . Put the oversized sticker on the car and I’m good to roll

Was thinking. Take that 149k that seems to be available. .and take a nice vacation. When you get back then drive for a good company, save $ again , vacation rinse and repeat. Lots of sites you will view from a distance while in the truck. But with you VW pop up camper, they will be accessible.

The more you talk the more you sound like someone who inherited a bunch of money who wants to do whatever the hell you want but still make a bunch of money. If I’m wrong I’m sorry. If I’m right then sorry but your more then likely screwed.

Company drivers that buy trucks to be their own boss and work less don’t realize that there is a reason the company runs the truck that hard. It’s because that’s what is required to be profitable.

I read it, it is typical of someone who doesn't know what's going on.

Leasing isn't fleecing, that's just ignorance.

A good company that allows you the flexibility while paying you without hesitation should be a goal, not having the "freedom" to do what you want, we don't have freedoms people think we do, the customer dictates to all of us,they are the source of our revenue and they make the rules.

Flexibility and freedom is more possible, usually after some longevity with their contractor. After they get to "know" you and your method of operation. Lots of , not all, like to lease on and tell the company what needs to change, and how they need 1 day off in a 5 day week. Then when you ask them, how is it going? They answer " not making any money" lol.

Nope mommy and daddy didn’t give me a penny. I’ve been a company driver for one year so far used to do a lease that was a bad idea. I’ve been saving and investing I don’t have 140k yet but in a couple years will. This far I saved 30k but I invested 10k into bitcoin cash when it was 90 a pop. It’s now 420 last time I checked. And a few stocks like roku. Okta. Workday. Crap who knows if I’m right about the market tumbling this year in October again I’ll have double that. But I didn’t make the plunge yet to short everything soon but not yet waiting on the downtrend to unfold. Now as a company driver I’m saving 500 to 600 a week. But again if like to go a vacation every couple months for 2 weeks can’t do that as a company driver. Remember what’s the point of giving up your life as a trucker if you can’t go to some exotic destination 20 hours away by flight.
