I need A/C options to help stay cool besides idling truck. I'm hauling reefer.
Driving Texas & Midwest - summer is hot.

    Thx for the help.

Go with a company that has APU.

Appreciate the replies - but I'm looking for solutions to current situation.

Yes, I have a thread out to my local company drivers as well, but thought I'd get some opinions here as well.

Not many ways to keep cool in the summer especially running down to Texas without idling, having APU or staying in a hotel each night....

With your stipulations, a generator and a portable room AC.

Bug box home improvement stores around me carry the room ACs. Have used one inside an 8 person tent during 90° temps. Woke up froze about 2am.

Why no truck idling? A truck parked in the sun on a hot day can get well over 120 inside even with the windows open. I would idle and just work it out with the boss later. Not worth losing your life over.
