I am going to be hauling an oversized load from Arizona to Iowa. The dimensions of the one crate that is oversized is 9"2. They are working on the permits for me now. Do I need to hang any signs signifying that I am hauling an oversized load or is this not required? If it is required, where do I get these signs/decals?

Each state is different but most of the require oversize signs , red flags on corners of the load sticking out as well bumpers , some states required flashers too . Any truck stop has them
Permit says it all . Permit should be printed and not in you phone

Permit comes with a whole bunch of provisions and fun stuff like that. Read EVERYTHING! Then read it again. Then a third time. Memorize it.

I pull Overweight across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. And I get the provisions and read them every single time. Never know when some political appointee idiot is gonna change some small but VERY expensive rule.

Signs and flags can be had at most truck stops. Provisions will say whether or not signs, flags, and lights are needed.

    ∆∆∆ This right here ∆∆∆

Everything you need to know regarding that load will be in your permits. And don't forget to pay close attention to any curfews along the way.

Since you are going through multiple states, read each permit and provision CAREFULLY. I normally follow whatever the most strict requirements are for the entire rout, unless that most strict state requires strobe lights and another state forbids them. Then I make sure I put the strobe lights on before crossing into the state that requires them.

    That's just one example.

The OP mentioned only one dimension, which I assume is the width. We shall assume he is legal on height and weight...unless otherwise notified.

By the way, read your provisions carefully. You will have curfews, meaning there are certain counties or municipalities you can't drive during rush hour. Male sure you can make it completely through a curfew zone before curfew, or shut it down.

Some states do not list requirements in the permit, you will have to get the attachment sheet which you must have should a DOT want to see said permit.

Ive got my truck setup for oversize, and havent once pulled oversize ever. I want to try it but they dont want to pay me anymore money for it even know they would be making much more off of,it than a regular freight load, so i dont do it. Its ultimatly my next level up in the flatbed game

    Question...who is “they”?

If you are leased on to a company, you some times have to break the ice by showing them that you are the Go-To Guy. You have to prove you can fight before you get your first televised fight.
