So the 19 peterbilt 579 I was put into doesn't have the space for my current radio. So I'm wondering what to buy that fits. Picture is of the space I got to work with 15629527628531562938982835377748.jpg

Best thing to do would be get a tape measure and see what the dimensions of the hole is...Most of the radios listed on line will also tell you in the ad's the dimensions of the radios...Just be sure to allow enough space for the antenna connection in the back...If necessary you can use a elbow connector to hook the coax up which can save you a inch of space in the back...

I agree with the McKinley, it's about the same 1DEN size as most car stereos so it's a ideal choice for mounting in tight spaces...

Uniden 880? That should fit. The flat plastic just inside the cubby looks like it is a separate piece, it will probably pop off and make more room.

The piece where the mic holder is, is one piece from the door window to about half way to the center of the windshield. A little bit of pressure will pop that entire piece out allowing access to more space. On my current truck, the cb connection posts are behind and to the left of the flat surface that is adjacent to your mic holder. When you get the trim panel off, you will probably be able to remove that flat piece. On mine, there is a small cubby hole box that is snapped into place with tabs on the left, right, and rear sides. I've got a Cobra 25 Classic but that area will hold a larger CB.
