Funny you mention that. I do not remember ever signing a permit and have never had the subject brought up.

Just know, per the permit, your speed is limited to 55MPH in AZ. Just saying.

    MartinFromBC and Lepton1 Thank this.

Here it just depends on the load, a little 9'2" load would be posted speed, but I haul some with a 45 max speed on them. There are times that the dot will check our logs on the return trip to make sure we logged it at the permitted speed. lol

Or to have the red ink pen. Think it was Alabama that wanted that signature in blood red.

Someone once told me it was to see if the driver really read the permit. Seems pointless.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Well thats one way to look at it. I happened to get permit checked about 15 or so miles from my drop by Alabama's finest. I beat him to the punch and said i know its signed in black however i tried to find a red pen along the route when i stopped at the truck stops and didn't find one. Pretty much cut me loose right after he read it.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

It is fairly common to have speed restrictions anywhere when overweight or over size. I regularly get restricted to 80 kms/hr, or 90 kms/hr, depending on the hwy I will be on, and my load. Maximum speed limit signs are irrelevant for me frequently.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
