I’ve actually wanted to try it someday, but my innards have been known to freak out over a slice of regular old pizza from time to time.

Get a bunch of rice alongside. If you don’t like what you got, order something else. N if it’s spicy, use the rice as a base to suck up some of the gravy in your gut.

You can get regular/mediocre food anywhere: if you have the option to try something new, do it. You can always get a cheeseburger somewhere else if you don’t find anything you like.

    Clearly I like food.
I feel like it’s the safest and/or easiest way to try new things/explore a culture a little different than mine. If you don’t like it, ain’t like you have to fight the guy that made it?

That’s what I’m afraid of. Had some blackened Cajun food once. Great stuff. Next morning, the heat was so bad that I had to take my shirt off, lean forward, arch my back, and pour bottled water over my shoulder. A burning number two is lethal to an OTR trucker.

+1 on the nan. One of those things I habitually order n never think to tell people about. It’s good tho. Second to Jamaican bread. That I could eat a loaf with butter.

After our welding discussion the other night, I got a project I could take pictures of and share the steps that went into it. Not all my pictures took for some reason. So, here are some pics of today's adventure. First we start with a nice drawing.
    20190717_140732.jpg

Then we doodle on the table a little bit. (This is the angle of the plates).
    20190717_140707.jpg

Then we put the pieces together with some gentle persuasion. (The bottom was tacked and the top pulled out of alignment.)
    20190717_141733.jpg

Tacked up and tacked to the table to hold the angle.
    20190717_150506.jpg

Now the fun begins. Root pass 1/8" 7018 125 amps. Just a single pass pushing the rod into the joint.
    20190717_150724.jpg

Now for the hot pass. The purpose here is to burn any slag that may have been trapped along the edges and unable to be cleaned. 5/32" 7018 150 amps. I forgot to take a picture.
Moving on to the third pass, which is just a fill pass. The purpose here is to build up the weld bead. It is almost to the top, and there is a little undercut where I just nipped the cut edge of the groove. 20190717_143213.jpg
Same third pass, just shows how full the groove has gotten. Same rod and amperage as the hot pass.
    20190717_143237.jpg

The final, or cap pass. Same 5/32" rod turned down to 135 amps. This way the chance of undercutting the edges are reduced.

    Rechecking the height.

    Hopefully, it wasn't too boring.
