PDI out of Utah seem to being pretty good at reprograming the MXS motor. Also there is the Bully Dog downloader (around $2400) that will return the timing back where the other CAT motors have it. The timing is the biggest reason the MXS motors run poorly (both for HP and MPG). There is also Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh, they make the Pittsburgh Power box. You can go online and search for a few guys that do reprogramming. One that comes to mind sells reman ECM or will reprogram your exsisting one. I got a qoute of around $1925 for a reman with a 625 tune delivered to my door. They are listed on a very popular online auction site.

I am in the process right now of deciding on weather to buy the reman ECM or go with the Bully Dog downloader. No matter which way I go I will probably be buying the Pittsburgh Power box and a water/meth injection system afterwards just for pulling. If you haven't done so already I would highly suggest you get rid of the stock mufflers and look at a FASS fuel system or a least make sure you are flowing enough fuel through the primary fuel filter and filter head. Hope this helps.

I would just like the 625 program but have no idea what that would cost. $1900 sounds a bit steep but I guess if the market supports that price, I'll stick with what I've got for now.

IMO, the problem with a 625 program is its still a Cat file. emissions legal, retarded timing. if you want that engine to come to life, get some timing in it. Bully Dog or PDI .neither are cheap

Oh I understand, #### EPA! I'm thinking more in the price range of what some local shops charge for EFI Live programming for the chevy Dmax. $100.00 for a custom tune, your choice of HP. 200hp extra for $100.00, that's more like it.:biggrin_25525:

What I don't understand is the extreme price difference. I have a bullydog programmer for a dodge pickup which cost under $400 for like 190hp. But it's almost $2k for a big truck and all you get is like a 40hp upgrade. If the one for the big trucks was under $400 they couldn't make enough of them.
