It wouldn't hurt to have a supply of earplugs as well. We had a tree service hacking down limbs and running the chipper off and on for two weeks on both sides of the block. Also helps for neighbors who like to mow mid day. Or pet owners who like to leave their yappy dog outside.

Thankfully I life out in the country, far away from any neighbors lol. Most I gotta put up with is the kid, the dogs, some singing birds and the wind.

A good quality sleep mask does wonders too.

I’ve seen linehaul guys get sent back out. It certainly happened to me back when I was running nights.

“Hey, you’re just in time for this appointed sort-and-segregate at a grocery warehouse. Get going and see you in about 4 hours when the sun’s blazing by then so you’ll never get any sleep today”.

Yeah you're going to have some fun adjusting driving through the night is especially tough between 02:00 - 04:00 is the worst best advice i can give is if your feeling sleepy get off the road as soon as possible and take a quick nap even if its just for 5 minutes, or just get out of the truck take a quick walk around the truck do an inspection get your blood circulating again then get back behind the wheel. Hope it works out for you its good to have a steady pay check coming in to pay those bills.

Same here. When Amazon got their warehouse up and running over on the Illinois side, linehaul guys back early to St. Louis were sent to do swaps. Magically, the short 200sh mile runs out of our barn turned into 10 hour turns. Funny how that works.
