Hey I'm finally going to buy my own rig after 4 years and I have only ever drove a International and a Volvo. The Volvo wrecked my legs and I can't stand the sleeper and I honestly want to get away from the International.
Ideally I want to get a KW or a Pete. Would I fit in either of them?
And I use the term "fit" loosely. I've doing 10 years on Navy ships so I am accustomed to adapating to my surroundings lol.

Best thing I could recommend is going to a dealer lot and spend some time sitting in various makes/models to get a feel for how you fit in them. Personally, I like axle-forward Macks...tuck my left foot between the clutch and the door, and I can straighten my leg. Anything with an axle-back design is going to have that wheel tucked too close to the cab, which cuts into your ability to do that because they have to take some of that space away for the wheel well.

With an Iowa Customs seat adapter, you can pretty much put a Peterbilt 389's seat into the sleeper (probably a Kenworth W900 as well). Since you'll be spending a lot of time driving, you'll want the comfortable seat setup over a ton of space in the bunk.

What did you not like about Volvo sleepers?

I can tell you that @ 6ft, KW cabs feel small. Hell the aero sleeper does too.

The first time I drove a Volvo from Phoenix to Vegas it was just straight up painful. I'm telling you man, I crawled out of the cab in Vegas with my legs in pain. Maybe not so much dissing on the sleeper and hell maybe it was just that truck but that one experience turned me off with Volvo. Plus they're ugly as heck haha

I know that W900's have A lot of leg room with the right seat. I could stretch both legs out under the dash... If I had longer arms I could have slid the seat even further back. I'm about 6 foot... But got long legs... 38 to 40 inch inseam on jeans.

Westernstar has one of the biggest cabs. Perfect for the tallest of people. Lots leg room and lots room between the seats also

I'm really glad you guys are mentioning the W900 because I love that truck.
Thanks for all the input so far guys, really appreciate it.
The reason I am asking and not going out to test is because I am currently deployed and will be transitioning jobs asap when I get back. Trying to keep that money flow steady!

    Intothesunset Thanks this.
