Can you apply to an ltl company like conway freight or yrc that pulls double and triples with only a class a cdl and no triple or double endorsements? Don't want to pull doubles or triples and I like the idea of a city tractor pulling a 28' pup...

Is there any companies that only run 28ft pup trailers w/ or w/o liftgate/ramp? If so could u tell me the names?

There will be times when you’re only rolling with a single pup but for most ltl companies like YRC they’ll want you to get the doubles triples endorsements.

That’s really an easy test too, even if you never do it.

NO, you sign on with an LTL company you haul what you are assigned, and you'll need your double-triples,tankers endorsements as well as hazmat...

they all run a variety of trailers of all lenghts and with lift gates and with out.

Most LTL companies use 35ft -57ft Van's for local work. And a set of pups for line haul. At times a single pup may be the only trailer on a line run. Or a pup may be sent out for local P&D. It changes from day to day. A local driver may be sent out with a set also. You would leave the rear pup at customer lot. Then make deliveries wit the 1st. And return to grab the 2nd one to make drops then start picking up inbound freight. And return to drop it and gather freight with the next pup. Normally this is done for runs further away from the yard. Like 100- 150 miles away. It's a different set up everyday for local or line haul. So therefore the criteria for a driver is to have tanker, hazmat, and doubles endorsements. Some may give a grace period to obtain the endorsements after hire date.

I drove line over the Cascades for 8 years. The worst was a 102 pup for the front box and 2 regular trailers behind it. A few times I'd have trailers from every ltl company on the West coast at once. Wasn't sure who I worked for. Crazy combos, box, tank, flat at once.

Why do some LTL companies require tanker endorsement?
