In Europe it's usually between 800-1200 euros and it has been going on for at least 15 years. It usually takes about 3 months after new engine is released.

Great read Jas,just trying to get my head around it.
So when I was running the big injectors but only using about 38-40psi boost my EGTs were well down 850*F instead of 1200*F.
The way I understand it is because more fuel went in earlier and burnt better making more HP......Right????
Also with only 40psi boost my peak cylinder pressure wouldn't be to bad???
The thing is to keep it there and fight the urge to take it to 50psi:biggrin_255:

Been busy and haven't been here in a while. I spoke with PDI this week about an ECM for my BXS. They have a 725HP program that they say will give me 4 to 6 tenths increase in mileage for $1900 exchange. It surprises me some guys say that a part that will pay for itself is expensive. And - what price can you put on that much FUN!?!? :biggrin_255: As soon as I can afford it, I'm ordering mine!

I would like to do a PDI ecm for maybe 650hp or so, my concern is how much will this shorten engine life???

More horsepower = less engine life, how you treat the engine will determine how much less.
