Which Mclane? There are 3 different divisions. One runs teams Grocery. One is Foodservice divisions that run solo. The other Foodservice division runs both solo and team.

All McLane’s pay very well. 100k is attainable. But do you want to run team or solo? If you can handle teams Grocery pays the best and is the flagship. The other two divisions are the red headed step child’s.

Reinhart is not a good company to work for. I worked there in 2016 up in Massachusetts. I worked out of a small terminal in Rowley, Mass. and business as well as management were so poor that the terminal actually closed down.

Their main offices in that area were in New Bedford, Mass. Upper management was in total disarray, supervisors were getting fired, then replaced, then fired on a continual basis. Goofy company.

You only mentioned Mclane and Reinhart. Do you have Sysco Foods, US Foods and/or Gordon Foods in your area as well?
If so, I would highly recommend US Foods; very stable and managed well. Also; you’re making a good decision to get into the food delivery business. $1600.00 per week is very doable almost right away and is also the norm. Pretty much all other trucking jobs will pay you anywhere from $700.00- $1100.00 weekly if you’re lucky. All OTR pays horrible; stay away if you can.

Also; don’t let anyone fool you with stories about how incredibly difficult food delivery can be; I’m almost 60 years old and I can still deliver as well as anyone, no problem. And I’m as average as average can be.
    It’s not that difficult.

Mclane isn't hard, how much you enjoy it is going to be dependent on who the trans manager and dispatchers are. I worked at one but traveled to different locations to help when they had low staffing and it's night and day between each location. My favorite was in Rocky Mt NC, least favorite was Minnesota.

Thats quite a mess. I dont believe Sysco, USFoods or Gordon are anywhere near me. When I lived closer to Milwaukee I did a stint at a place usfoods bought. Was through a staffing company. Got laid off though.

i worked down the street from the Taunton, MA warehouse. from what i recall, the Penske mechanics telling me (they leased trucks to Agar, which was bought out by Rhienhart) that if a driver gets even the slightest "ding" of damage on anything, they get fired..Rhiemhart took over, carried out that same firing process, even though Agar got the union in just before Rhienhart took over..

I agree with you about how the reaction was about even the slightest “ding”.

When a companies’ managing agenda has become one of solely policing, then ‘busting’ it’s employees, then take that as a sign of weak management; from the CEO all the way down to a driver supervisor.

I suppose that same rule would also apply to governments as well.

Also; did you say that Reinhart became unionized up at Taunton?
