I just finished my road test & will start orientation tomorrow. I never asked recruiter; when will I get my first check, and after do they pay weekly/biweekly?

You'll get your first check the Friday following orientation (not the Friday the week of but the next week) and they pay every Friday.

What are some of the dedicated accounts like? Night driving? Enough time to complete your trip in 14 hours? Day cabs? Live unload? No touch?

That will depend on where the account runs out of and what accounts are open at the time. But a driver will finish up the day with the HOS limit and most loads will be no touch. I'm sure there are exceptions, of course, but from what I have heard in talking to other drivers doing different accounts that most of them are plop and swap.

But I don't drive day cab or run dedicated stuff, but like i said I have talked to many, many drivers about what they do, so it's pretty much all the same...

I run a dedicated account out of Bhm. for Kamtek. I go to Louisville KY. twice a week, and Greenville S.C. one day a week. If I can get through Atlanta twice on Thursday I work the yard on Friday as a switcher.

I run dedicated but I'm flat bed so I touch everything. I don't load or unload my but I do have to strap and tarp if necessary.

I am never given anything that can't be completed in my 11/14 time frame.
I have a day cab, not all flat beds do though.
As far as night driving, I do a ton of it but it also depends on my load. If I'm going to Raleigh I'm not coming in until the sun comes up because nothing opens until 7am but if I'm going to Charleston I come in at 2am.

The company is in need of flatbed drivers something terrible right now.

I’m in the process now to be hired for a local flatbed, but I think you all just talked me out of it.
This cpap bs bugs me to no end.

I drive local flatbed and love it. I bring home around $900 a week, that's after taxes, retirement, insurance, etc... My best week I brought home $1300 my worst was $860.

I have consistent miles and drops.

If you've got any questions feel free to ask. Cpap is a federal regulation so you're going to deal with no matter where you go.

CPAP is not regulated that you must be tested.
Nor should neck size or BMI be the only determining factors for testing, yet it is.
If you have zero symptoms you shouldn’t be required to test for it.
