Not really any pointers, except have a few longer straps. I would much prefer step, but it had nothing to do with safety, it is because of the freight, and not as much tarping either.

get another bar and cut it down about 6-8 inches for the step deck.
You'll thank me. (carry both, but sometimes that shortie bar is just perfect)cke Thanks this. -
Ive got 40' straps and a shortie bar, check.
Guy asked what size tarps i want. Ive done 4s and a steel tarp. Im thinking a steel and a six. In my mind 8s is for lumber and tarped lumber does not pay. But ive never run a step. Maybe the tall loads that spec a step are 8ft tarp jobs.. I dunno. Im gonna target CNC moves. Will a 6 drop cover a mazak/haas/tsugami or is that 8ft territory? -
Tug Toy and FoolsErrand Thank this.

If you’re tarping on a step, for loads that need a step, be better off shooting for machinery tarps that can cover 10’ tall. Plus wide if you want to move in that direction. -
Thank you gents, i appreciate it.
