I dont really mind being at 68 i just think its unfair lol
i personally dont want to cruise at 75 either or high speeds, what i really cant stand is when im passing by others drivers slowly and i cant do anything about it and block traffic

i'd set the cruise at least at 65, especially on the ride back to the d/c center.
going to my stops, i was held back by Boston traffic (i drove at night, but traffic is always a thing up there) on the highways, and thier city streets. -
Indian River has a good reputation. There's a terminal not far from you in PA.
Trucks:
- Indian River Transport runs a late model tractor fleet consisting of 600 Peterbilt tractors.
- All trucks are furnished with refrigerators and premier interior packages, over 70-inch sleepers.
- All tractors are assigned and are less than 36 months old.

I can still run as old as I am, but I need them things to run the limit. Not 61 or some such BS. Ive endured a 55 mph truck for a while in the south regional.buddyd157 Thanks this. -

70 is fast enough. heck, so is 68.
i find it funny and ironic, that you "liked" my posting above about not wanting to see him driving a tanker at 75 mph.
(Lysdexis, x1Heavy and DTP Thank this)
yet here, you advocate high speed driving from truckers.x1Heavy, bryan21384 and Lysdexis Thank this. -
And get with the program bud, 75 is hardly high speed. Especially when the traffic around you on a 70mph road is already blasting by at 75 plus.
A drivers got to know his limits. When I started my first truck was limited to 68/72 and I felt it was plenty fast, but I got used to it and when I switched companies and started running the lower part of the country where the speed limit is 80 in most places I got a truck thatd run 75 and got used to it after awhile. It doesnt matter what speed a bad drivers truck is set at hes still going to be a bad driver.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
You're whining about driving 68 mph. Let's talk physics here. 68 mph at a weight of up to 80,000 lbs....that means you need more time to stop, and if you dont stop in time, you will kill yourself and others. Newton's 2nd law states Force = Mass x Acceleration. Now let's look at some other things here, even if your truck is governed at 68 or better, if you're traveling the eastern half of USA, or in the steep Rocky Mountains out west, or any of the west coast states, you won't sustain 75 or even 68 for the duration of your drive time anyway. In reality, you'll do good to average 63 in the aforementioned territories. Anyway, if you're too hung up on how fast your truck goes, then you probably need to look at your running habits. It's not how fast you go, it's when/where you run, and how long that driver door stays closed.

Whatever is on the 5th wheel to a professional will decide what happens.
I also say given a big horse truck and endless power and speed matching that of earth gravity in some cases downgrade... you are still able to run late sometimes. So it doesnt make it any faster, despite the stress, danger and risk to human lives. I doubt many people has had the experience of a big rig blasting by in the hammer lane a few feet at 130+ Its seriously fast and outrageous. It still did not keep dispatch happy. And if the Law did catch you that fast, you are going to jail end. dot. period.
Out west some trucks approach 200 if they have enough room to build that speed and usually do.
No. there is no reason to be that fast.
Speed limits are fine with me. As high as they are. Just so long you can get up and run it. Not be casterated at 61 waiting for someone to slam into your decap bar.Concorde Thanks this. -
don't matter what the 4 wheelers are doing. YOU need to keep it at or just UNDER the posted speed limits.Lysdexis, bryan21384 and x1Heavy Thank this.
