A super trucker could put a long wheelbase truck anywhere. Not ask for a daycab.

This particular driveway sucks. Back in off the road blindside then blindside around another corner. The farm is a mess with junk everywhere sometimes

I'm not getting where folks are coming from getting on @ad356 talking smack. He has some legitimate issues with a seriously underpowered truck.

Any of you want to volunteer to run his route? Good. Run the route in a long wheelbase tractor and get back to us how well you did.

ad356, you might want to post some pictures or upload video on YouTube to show the door swinging dock bangers how it's done.

In my 4 months running a daycab in Hawaii I got pretty addicted to using that back window while backing.

It sounds like his boss is trying to make the best out of dealing with this and I would imagine his boss doesn’t want to spend a lot of money and have an additional truck down right now. If it’s on the car driver’s insurance I’d be checking in to a rental truck to drive until the wrecked truck is repaired or replaced.

His boss is down a truck...bad spot to be in so sometimes in situations like that you gotta do what you gotta do....and underpowered truck....you don't wanna ask me about that lol. I drive 25+ year old internationals that don't even have AC as an option.....how much power ya think they got? Lol. When you get paid to drive you drive what you are given...his boss is obviously in a spot being down a truck so being a team player and just getting it done without crying would be nice...but that's just me.

While I agree with what you have said, I think I any truck with as much of a power issue as has been described is simply waiting to fail catastrophically and cost the company more money.

If the truck is honestly underpowered because it has a very low power engine, then it might fail due to working beyond it's rating.

If the truck's engine has a problem causing it to be underpowered, any number of things might happen, leading to more issues or failure.

True. The truck in the OP shouldn't have a power issue. The problem started when the ECM was reprogrammed.

Who cares if it fails? He’s not OTR ride it until the wheels fall off and if they do call your boss to pick you up. His boss is aware of the problem...

I had to drive the worst truck ever the other day too. It was one of those old automatics with the clutch still that shift so slow they leave you hanging in traffic. It is what it is. Throw on the hazards and kick back and enjoy all the disgusted looks you get from cars.
