Seen this the other day. From what I know is ########, if they reused 2/3 of major components your exempt period that was the IRS law. But they made a new market and drew attention and uncle Sam the molester wants his piece. You know excise tax was a way to fund WW1. Trucks and trailers are some of the last things paying this.Opendeckin and nikmirbre Thank this. -
Frankly, I love it when people try to "game" the system and get their butts handed to them.
I paid my taxes when I bought my trucks, they should too.alds Thanks this. -
You dont get it do you. There has been a tax law that everyone follows with gliders, now they want more! It's a part not a truck. Guess you love government control and was a spokesman for eld?nikmirbre and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
The law is that the cost of a glider has to be 75% or less than a comparable new truck to avoid FET. They were advertising their gliders anywhere from high $120’s to around $140 depending on what they were, transmission choice, etc. So if they were selling a 389 with a 500 Detroit and 18spd for $138k then a 500hp 18spd new truck would need to be $185k to avoid FET. It’s a simple equation.

Fitzgerald was trying to skirt the EPA regs and the tax laws and got busted.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are playing by the rules.
I don't mind rules as much as I mind playing by them just to see the guy next to me not and get away with it.alds Thanks this.
