Oh good. The black smoke matters inbred tards got their wish. A 17-hour day, and all kinds of sleeper berth split rules that make it possible to live in their trucks.

    TRUCKIN FREEDOM RIGHT THARR! YEEEHAWWW!!!

Sometimes you needed to drive 20 before you stopped for 8.

No. This is not better. This is a ####ing disaster. People should be worried about increasing their pay, not trying to work more for the same amount. In what other business is it appropriate to have a 3-hour unpaid break in the middle of your day?

You're sitting on the dock? Oh, just use your 3-hour break. That way we don't have to pay you.

This is hilariously bad, and you're happy about it.

Wait, wasn't everyone complaining about lack of flexability? Isnt this step in the right durection better than nothing?

    The way I see it:
    - Use it your advantage to hide some on duty time, or
    - Use it to your advantage to wait something out and have a snooze, or
    - Dont use it at all

If this change causes anyone to sit on a dock for 3 hours for free, you're doing it wrong

But what do I know? I'm just a dumb Canadian go getter that uses our 16 hour rule to suit MY needs, whatever they might be on any given day.

At reputable companies, it will not lead to people sitting around for 3 hours unpaid every day. At the worst companies, it absolutely will.

    peterd Thanks this.

And for the record? To hell with flexibility. Pay me for the time I work. You get 14 hours, you get 14 hours. And I am PAID for 14 hours.

x1Heavy, Rocks and roshea Thank this.

But we're not just talking about experienced drivers. We're talking about the rookies. Why should they be subjected to that? It's unnecessary.

    roshea Thanks this.
