What an interesting week. I'm glad its the weekend now. Everything went a-ok most of the week and got to ride with four different drivers, so I tried my best to make sure they didn't work so hard. I do believe I'm putting in more miles backing up though but I need the practice anyway! Averaged about 12.5 hrs each day on a truck with someone and that;s pretty much about it. The only negative I can think of right now is that I heard that I'd be riding with someone for four weeks as part of my training. Now, while I don't mind doing the riding along part, the job really isn't that hard you just have to really be sure there is a paper trail for everything. I think another day or so and I'll have the basics of their(our) system down and I will be ready to rock and roll myself. But I guess that won't be happening. Oh, and another thing- you guys were spot on that LTL guys tend to stick together. All the guys in my terminal know all the other drivers at ALL the other carriers in town. That's crazy, and they're already giving me nicknames haha. I told them I wouldn't brag about being great at anything I do but I #### well will get it done safely. I might not be the best, but I'm dependable and you'll never call me lazy.

@Kstrong86 - That really stinks you and your partner didn't get the route you wanted, hows it working out now?

@Matt1924 man I hope you dont spend 4 weeks in training brother, also get a good rapport with the customers bro you be amazed how helpful it would be especially when you running a bit late picking up or doing a delivery when customer stops receiving. Also this is one of many reasons Im staying in the LTL industry, were such a close knit you get to know the folks from other carriers and for the most part we help each other out. Get ready to put more miles backing up:D you be amazed at the places you can back up, its like a second nature.

Again welcome to the LTL side of trucking brother and hope you get stay for the longest.

Judging by the color of that truck which is blue no that is not me lol. My truck color is the white sleeper. We have the twin screws. And also that driver is in the wrong lane. Left lane is a no go lol unless posted otherwise but still the middle lane and right lane is wide open. Just constructive criticism lol. Where is that it by the way. Should be rolling into Orlando tonight. It’s been a long week for us but glad it’s almost over.

Actually Gulfport, MS isn’t that bad. It’s a decent run. No major cities to deal with so it’s a vacation run for us and still good miles and good pay and schedule. We are both happy. Less headaches. Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Nashville are horrible to drive through so we are extremely happy the other team out bid us for this run lol. LTL is where it’s at man. We stick together and help each other out in the road. XPO has the has the fastest running trucks so we we give them room or help make room for them then comes UPS. Some of them run up there with XPO but not all of them. OD is the same. Some run 70 but for the most part they run 65. Some Saia drivers can run 68 but that’s senior drivers I believe but most of them run 65 Southeastern run 65 FXF run 65 all day every day YRC run 62 and we can run between 65-68 depending on the truck. The new models run 65. R&L run 70-72 again depends on their trucks. So we look out for each other and get where we gotta get going. Unlike OTR which what I learned really fast it’s not about just driving and sight seeing. Not time for that. Drop N hook and keep moving.

Oh that was the Dallas team that met with our Orlando team. Headed back to the Dallas terminal. They meet in Hammond, LA if I’m not mistaken.

@Kstrong86 oh man im glad you dodge the bullet as far as skipping Atlanta, going around the 285 loop is a headache along with I-24 in Chattanooga where sometimes the traffic could be a headache as well. Xpo really does have the fastest truck for sure I let them break wind in case of a cop be hiding somewhere in the bushes.:D better be them than me.
