Jtaran, Roehl will can you for your idle time, and they will do it in a sneaky way. They were already an extraordinarly cheap company before the economy went in the gutter. I always saw their method of cost savings, "wasting a dollar to save a dime". They pump that "save crap" down all the throats of FM and DMs too. Its an every morning ritual. That place is worse than a cult. They have alot of nerve telling you to go in the truckstop to keep cool. Unreal. :biggrin_25512:

Yes every company is looking at ways to save money and they are cracking down hard on it. I know a guy who was warned and then fired for it and put on his dac report.

Screw them. I idle whenever I need to, no matter what my boss says. If they are going to fire you, you will probably be better off.

Its So so simple to answer this....tell them if they dont like your IDLE time then dont leave you Idle...if your running you wont be sitting...so as long as you leave me sit I will be as comfortable in my truck as you are in the office or at home...if you dont like how much idle time I have GIVE ME MORE RUNS

That's exactly what I was thinking. I have run into this, sitting around, a few times here at my company in the short time I've been with them. I have a dog in the truck and when they sit me for over 24 hours in Laredo or somewhere where it's extremely hot I idle. I utilize the optimized idle they provide in their truck.

I am hoping for a good settlement sometime this year for the car accident I was in last summer. I plan on buying my own truck if it's a good enough settlement. With that, I will be putting an APU on it. Leaning towards the Thermo King. And not even sure I would put the truck on here. That's a bridge to cross when the time comes.

But yeah, I can't idle if I'm driving!!!

Yeah, I have a cousin that was fired for this. even though I own my truck and therefor am paying for my fuel, it's gotten ridiculous to the way more and more of these companies are treating drivers and it's going to get worse.
