Not necessarily a 100% true. I used to mosey along about 60 most of the time, now I can not make it to some places before the clock runs out, so I drive faster and sometimes have more stress doing it especially when traffic doesn't cooperate. And if you are working a full 70 hrs you better be maxing out the speed limit and hustling to get everything done before the clock runs out. Creating more stress sometimes. And like somebody else said, it makes some guy grab 16 gears going across the parking lot lol

Its no need to drive faster. I drove 62 on paper, I drive 62 on elogs. The problem isn't the elogs, or even the 14 hr rule. The issue is that most drivers want to run the same 5 am to 5 pm schedule. Most drivers don't plan according to the particular load they are running. They expect everything to fall in line with that schedule, then theres the complaint about parking, can't make deliveries, can't make money, etc. The HOS is surprisingly flexible if used properly.

So are you one of those weaklings who submit or do you just blow through the scale house with your middle finger raised while yelling at the trooper, "I will not submit to your ridiculous request".

Elog is great. When you need to complete 7 hours of drive time you get 14 hours to complete it. Easy breezy.

I feel bad for people that have an ELD forcing them to do things. They should try another brand of ELD, maybe it will be nicer to them.

I suggest they try the Keep Truckin ELD. That’s the one I use. It doesn’t make me speed, heck most days it doesn’t even care that I run 63 all day. It doesn’t make me start driving in the morning unless I want to. And I’ve never had it tie me into the driver seat and make me keep driving if I didn’t want to. Maybe those other guys pay extra for the deluxe version that forces them to do things?
