Well I drive for lots of different companies, most do have cameras, I just dont care. You are literally on hundreds of cameras a day you don't even know about, if your doing your job whats the big deal. It will not be long till the cameras are built into the trucks to start with.

As far as right to privacy you do not have any presumed right to privacy in the drivers seat of a vehicle going down the road, that is exactly why all those other cameras can take pictures of you with getting your consent. So what your talking about does not exist in the drivers or passenger seat of a motor vehicle. Sleeper is quite another issue, there is a right to privacy behind the closed curtain.

You want freedom in the cab of a truck go buy one, the company truck is not your residence, at best its a work place. Don't like buy your own. I have seem plenty of big mouthed jerks spout off about I'm going to quit if they put that in the tractor I drive, guess what not one single one quit, In fact that took place at Valley Bulk in Victorville. The prima donnas crying over the cameras are all still there with the drive cam right in front on them.

Just passing by and bryan21384 Thank this.

Didn’t Swift get rid of their inside camera because it was incriminating them with the driver distractions?

I don’t know. But that’s my point. Especially for those companies. It can only hurt them eventually

At the end of the day most of us (not including owner operators) are company drivers an if they happen to decide they are going to put camera's (Whether front facing or driver facing or both) in those trucks then that's what they are going to do. So us as drivers are either going find another company to drive for or accept it an roll with it because at the end of the day we don't own those trucks the company does.

Why not buy your own camera and mount it directly in front facing their camera?

stwik, bryan21384 and Linte_Loco Thank this.
  10. why is it that this was asked before again and again and again this is almost as bad as I smoked a little weed but it's been a couple of days..Is Iz gonna be okay
you folks are going to have to finally realize dash cameras are going to be here to stay as much as you don't like it I don't like it either but it's going to come a time when as more and more people now have them if you want to get insured you may have to have them and that could go for a single owner operator you just never know..
I look for that to happen real soon you must have a dash camera maybe they may not go as far as a forward facing camera but then again maybe they might...
as a lifetime member of ooida these are things that we talked about a lot when passing through Green Valley and having a sit-down with other lifetime members

Its the drivers that have a mind frame stuck in the "good ole days" and dont want to get with the times. They wanna be able to have that pretty blond or brunette in the truck from time to time without the camera watching. I mean, what other reason is there to oppose cameras?

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
