i keep setting my camera off when turning and empty. It’s usually in an area with high traffic and fast lights I’ll turn the wheel and move the truck around before someone impatient puts me in a bad spot. (I’ve had more then one person go around me while turning or blow through their stopsign in that area)
The truck is NOT going to roll I’m not driving like mad max it’s just a bit bumpy.
It also goes off when driving empty (Atleast till I’m used to not weighing 78k lbs)

This G force sensor is so much more sensitive then my old truck or my trainers truck. It goes off when unhooking sometimes.

I don’t feel like I’m doing anything dangerous, but I won’t say or pretend like I know everything.
Please note it’s NOT roll over prevention kicking in, it’s strictly the G force sensor.
I’ve also set it off when braking but there’s not a hard brake warning (I ease into the pedal until I’m slowed to 10-15mph but if someone in front stops I do press harder just cause I don’t want to be 30ft before their bumper when I stop)

I haven’t changed my driving but I’m afraid I might have gotten their attention from my merging issue last time. (I haven’t and never will again) I’ve even been adding 50% to my following distance 12seconds or so.

Man I don't know what to tell you, if they put that kind of junk on trucks up here it would be going off all the time.

My company caught me going thru a stop sign the other day. I was doing a blazing 3mph. I slowed down for the stop sign, but didnt come to complete stop. I was bobtail going to the truckstop across the street from my company yard. Im such an outlaw

By mentioning trainer I'm going to assume you don't have much experience.
Well in either case it doesn't matter I guess. Simply slow down.
If someone cuts you off stop, wait until the intersection clears and then move. I've had to wait a few lights because it's such a bad intersection. Eventually one of the 4 wheelers will give.

Two things to need to learn as a new driver. Trip planning and not letting other drivers dictate how you drive. Once you get those two down then you can try and second guess the computer.

Now don't take that as running over others, just don't drive like you are afraid of what they will do.

On trucks, theyy arent like driving personal vehicles. Patience and gentle treatment is key. You will learn this in time.

Yeah u really cant drive afraid . i hate to say it , maybe some wont agree with me but u got to blend in with the traffic. Dont be a panzy driving in cali rushhour. Whatever they give u , u take it. Just like they do. Its when u start trying to be nice to ppl thats when #### happens. U see it all the time, the nice guy merging onto the interstate he wants to be nice and not cut in front of freeway traffic so decides to stop on the on ramp, well ####### is coming up behind him on the ramp amd #### near takes nice guy out , now hes got to swerve into freeway traffic to avoid getting hit,and it creates cluster ####... Instead he could just merge infront of traffic or behind.. U got to do the same with a truck. If u need the lane and u got enough room then take it , dont worry about what somebody thinks of ur move, or if they flip u off whatever. #### em. If people get on ur side and u cant turn , let them all do stupid #### and when they are done , comeplete ur turn. Do wat u got to do . ppl are gonna cut u off and do stupid stuff for the rest of ur career. The guy thats been driving 40 years has the same amount of stupid drivers around him than the guy that just got out of school. The difference is the veteran can see stuff happens before it happens, and it just takes more time in the driver seat, in the meantime, just be careful and dont let it get to you. Take those turns slower than u think . u get on a wet road or icy road and turn to fast and u will be looking at the back of ur trailer out of ur windshield, jacknifed in the ditch. Take it slow dont worry about anybodys thoughts about u , just be careful

All good advice, but now, what if his sensor really is over sensitive, does he wind up getting fired? how does that work.

Most of these types of systems are tied into the speedo. If it trips and they see he's doing 5MPH through an intersection they will likely simple ignore it.
If it trips and he's doing 15 they will likely 'counsel' him and if it keeps up they will discipline him up to firing depending on company policy.

I don't know anything about them, what I do know, is when this junk first started appearing on the scene, I knew wpretty much every driver that delivered the new trucks to all the truck shows, bobtailing. They hated the stuff claiming sometimes they would have to drive 500 miles listeng to a warning beeper. lol
