The problem with cameras are they only see a 12 second part of your day if they record an event. They don't see the BIG picture in trucking.

Perfect example. Your driving all week and you log 10 minutes for loading and unloading. My company tell us to only show that 10 minutes then go off duty or sleep. Because they what to save driving time so if you now work your full 70 hours, in reality you working 80,85 hours a week. Now your driving at 80 hours and something happens maybe traffic stop, your slow to react and hit the brakes hard and camera records events. That BS

The trucking company says work over the legal limit but when your tired and the camera see something wrong. Now your not a good driver. You can't have both. Put camera in trucks then let all run legal. These trucking companies can't have it both ways.

My company never asks me to do anything like that. Really! I see a lot of brave talk about not working for any outfit with driver cams, but this is who I won’t work for!

How does the camera know that you’re rolling a stop sign?
What triggers it to save and send the video?

ELOGs and driver facing cams are 2 totally different things.

I can talk smack about telling anyone that wants to put a cam on me to shove it. I am in a very good financial position I don’t drive because I have too, I drive because I want too. I live quarter to quarter. Not week to week.

I never really cared about elogs. I would prefer not to have them, but it’s not a big deal. I have to log anyways, screw it

    A cam on me?

Hell to the no. I was a heavy equipment operator for nearly 20 years. I will go back. I’m getting tired of the roads in general anyway

  9. many like to tailgate their improperly trained and they drive their truck like their car..
they continue to play with their phones...so basically they have a we like to call guilty consciences..
and they're afraid someone's going to catch them doing something they're not supposed to do because these aren't professional drivers professional drivers haven't been needed for quite a few years now this industry is no longer about quality it's about quantity

I did quit when I got an elog lol.

I’m in construction now. I’m a “contractor” and can drive as much as I want legally. I don’t log anything. Do a pre trip and I’m off to the races. I average 45-55 hours a week though. Screw working 60+ hours.
