I just replaced the cylinder head and gasket. The head was cracked from my driver over heating the motor. We got the truck running today and noticed white smoke coming from the blow by tube. Is it possible that the motor is burning off antifreeze that was left behind in the old oil? I changed the oil. I did the bottle test there are no bubbles and the motor is hot, tomorrow I will pressurize the coolant system to see if it holds. A gut told me that it could be coolant that was left in the motor from when I drained the oil? Any one have any ideas?

Could be your piston rings, or liner issue?

Depending on how hot he got the engine the tension on the rings could be a lot less now. Or even scored liners.? Nothing good comes from overheating an engine, especially if he lost all the coolant also.

Yeah he added 3 gallons of fluid. A hose had a leak. The oil had antifreeze in it an oil pressure had dropped I was hoping it was burning off old coolant in the system, pressuring it now to see if it holds.
