Does stevens still only let yall fill up the reefer once on them per load per trailer then if u need to fill up again they charge you??? five years ago that's what they did. What about tolls? Do you still have to pay 30% of it? I don't understand why you gotta pay for reefer fuel when u run their trailer and tolls when that's the only route to take to del their load. O well hope they're treating ya good over there.

Experienced drivers can be a company driver if they choose to...
STevens does offer the alliance program, but they hire experienced drivers as company drivers... so someone is spreading misinformation again.
Stevens has never charged me for refer fuel...18 months now. As a company driver all tolls are paid 100%, some by ez pass, or via reimbursement with a receipt for the cash tolls.
Company drivers mush follow the QC routing and fuel stops.
Alliance drivers are only reimbursed for 30% of tolls, we choose our own routes, and may fuel where we please, but do get a hefty discount if we follow the opti stop fuel program, which puts money in my pocket.
They treat me fine. -
no co. drivers do not have to follow qc route is only a sugested route, as long as your route does not exceed the 9% variance out of route miles.
you can fuel at any truck stop on the fuel list.
they hire experienced drivers for company , and lease also
inexpeirenced drivers can only be hired as company drivers is what i think you are trying to say. -

i think in july they will start hiring experienced drivers again. i drove for them for almos a year 1 month short as a matter of fact... i think the variance is 8% and i wish i would have stayed.after the training and the alliance grad fleet stuff i went into the lease program and i did very well.when my 2 year old grandson passed away they parked my pete at the kenworth dealership in amarillo and flew me home and then flew my wife and i back to the truck, all i had to repay was my wifes tickett at like 25.00 a week.
where i skrewed up was not paying my taxes.and now that im injured and have to have a second surgery on my lower back im totally in deep ( you know what ) the irs is going to seize my checking account at any time.so if anyone goes to the lease side please dont forget uncle sam or it will bite you in the butt.
all in all i have nothing bad to say about stevens transport, allthough i hear from my friends who are still there that the old man turned the company over to the two sons and things are going down hill now, but that is what i hear not what i know to be a fact.
be carefull out there and most of all be safe !!!!! -

Those drivers that do not make the company money will sit in the meat patch, or in the produce patch as a shag truck, pick the loads up and hand them off to a driver that is making money. They would rather you quit, than have to terminate a driver. They will make a drivers life miserable that is not making 8500 miles per month, has less the 5% out of route, has less than 100% compliance on fuel stops, and has less than 6 mpg average.
These are that facts of life at stevens as a company driver, you don't make the company money, you won't make any money either. -
And the rookies keep flocking to outfits like this...
-
Company drivers can get up to 30gals emergency fuel from the listed fuel stations. And then they better have a really good excuse ready
Other than that they do have to follow optistops. If you missed the optistop or if you even didn't get the amount recommended, you'll get a nasty message about you not being in compliance on your QC.
I just left the yard a few days ago and they were ######## about more drivers getting REEFER fuel out of optistop network ant that it'll have to be stopped. -
primexample Thanks this.
