OTR truck, I would hate even a local truck if it wasn't capable of more than 250 miles per fillup. No way would I mess with an otr truck with less than 200 gallons capacity.

I drove 1 truck out of 6 that would go `1200 miles on 200 gallons.

BUT, i was western regional. Pulling flatbed through the Rocky Moutains doesn't help.

That usually happens in economic losses. I got rid of some debt that way a different life time ago.

    Location does affect the mileage.

I get better than average on my runs, BUT I have 375 capacity and there has been times if I pull a load back, that I have had to buy a few gallons to get home, and my run is 1012 miles. lol
I have never burn't that much, but all fuel is not usable either and even less in the mountains, so just bought a few gallons for piece of mind . I can generally run it in between 200 and 240 gallons.
I doubt many company trucks are on the road otr these days that will not get better than 6 mpg though, it just would not make sense.

My truck gets between 700-1000 miles loaded miles.

Not sure what luggage or appliances these drivers may have to get home.
From the reading on this forum many drivers have a fully furnished apartment.
Not so easy to get home without using their truck to get it there.

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

If a guy truly needs a ride home, some of that junk could be left, Take your bag and go.
hat I found sad is the fact that we went through 5 pages with not one driver mentioning thye would give a hand a ride or the fact that drivers would take care of their own. I am soooooo glad I don't run otr any more, and I actually enjoyed it all the years I did.
