I didn't mean to sound like I was fussing at you JD. I'm sorry if it came across like that.
Truman had enormous shoes to fill when the ten year sitting President passed away without warning. He had only seen Roosevelt twice after becoming the Vice President and once was mere seconds. He wasn't informed about the strategies in place and wasn't prepared by Roosevelt at all for the decisions that he was facing. Roosevelt guided us through the Depression and almost all of the War but the situation was still very precarious. Very precarious indeed and a lesser leader could have very well messed it up.
We also were facing massive unemployment with the Men coming home from the War. The other leaders we had also did this country ( and the world ) a massive service by making wise decisions and guiding us to a booming economy when it could have gone the other way very easily.

Hope it didn't sound like I was fussing at you. It was way before our time and is easily overlooked as being just as important as the War itself. Millions were facing starvation and it took more than one year to get the crops back on track.

In some respects it was. In other ways it was the opposite of easy.

JD, I never mean any sarcasm when I say I'm glad you're here. I really am glad you're here.

I’m glad you’re here too. Just in case no one tells you that today — be thankful the bottom of the barrel company schmuck thinks so!

If it was a true partial, I'd move it for $5500, but most are "only needs 41' of deck, and we have $2800 in it". I tried doing the partial thing back from San Diego and ended up doing it for comparable as a FTL all said and done when you figure in days burned.

The beginning of his presidency was trying but the rest of the world was destroyed and we were the only ones producing anything. He had challenges like any but on the domestic front it’s was a great time.
