He is and he's not on drugs. We just had a little money issue years ago. And I'm not sure what to believe. I'm getting conflicting stories. I was kind of hoping someone could feed him off their points and let me send them cash. I just got back to work myself and don't really have it until I get my first check Friday.

It's cool. I have nothing to hide and have been trying to meet up in person with folks on here. I just missed @wore out and @Tall Mike and @RedForeman saw me buy I didn't have a radio. So again no problem.

 

Well I'm a gonna have to borrow your cutter then, cause I believe you.

 

Maybe you can borrow the cigar too. You know to learn.

 

Might have to borrow three, or four. Slow learner and all.

 

Nevermind y'all about the cousin. Thanks to a suggestion from a bodiless moose. We got it figured out. Thanks for the concern in the responses though I appreciate it!

Remember, the Jerry Rigger extraordinaire is always prepared. The compressor wasn’t coming on earlier, and after troubleshooting with my meter I determined it was the run capacitor going bad. It should be a 45/5/440 +/- 5%. The fan showed good, but the compressor side was showing 9.6 microfarads, well under the 45 it should be.

Enter the hard start kit, lightning in a package. It’s a 500 percent increase in start torque bringing 155 microfarads. Just connect compressor side to compressor, and other side to the herm of the failing capacitor. If the compressor still won’t start, it might be in thermal overload protection, pull the fan off and run cool water over it and cool it down for 15 mins. Then try it out.

Hard start is the black and white capacitor. It’s a crutch but will extend compressor life. I’m going to put a better 5/2/1 compressor saver hard start kit on here when I replace the bad capacitor this week. It’s 96 degrees here right now and no A/C supply houses are open on the weekend. Everyone should have one of these $20 capacitors handy just for situations like this and to save the overpriced repair call out.
