Prime has sims. There are numerous videos showing students using them.

When CDLs first started, I was doing an accounting internship at a company that disposed of PCBs. They turned a truck to the bank, but my dad had to deliver it. They wouldn't let me because the truck had a pump, and even empty it was considered hazmat. Must have been because of the pump.

Didn't make sense to me then, and doesn't sit with what you're saying. Still, I believe you know what you're talking about.

Not the same at all! Boston and Philly are the 2 worst places to have a truck. Chicago? Most of our roads here are wide and California was where long wheelbase tractors were invented. Now CARB is a different story.

I went to a few places in Chicago that weren't designed for semi's.

I spent 3 years in Cali. They don't give you any room either.

Where in California? I grew up and lived there 30 years. I have been around trucks since I was 2.
You'll probably say San Francisco, which is true, but it's it's own monster.

well, in all MY years, I HAD been to California, and chicagoland... and Washington, DC

there are no comparisons to Boston and other New England cities/towns.

my only trouble spots in chicagoland were the elevated train rails. and back then, we had NO GPS, we had to rely on MAPS, and directions from the customers, which were always spot on

one of only a VERY SMALL handful of companies that have them. still not as wide spread as others would make it out to be.

Experienced 2 simulators...refresher course at a state college then again with the carrier I’m with.

Winter driving training was productive as you get a true picture of your own reaction time...getting off the fuel and counter steering. The steering wheel being of actual size allows you to understand how little you actually turn the wheel when recovering from a trailer sliding around, potentially jackknifing situation.

Then...I tossed my cookies and had a mega headache lol.

This experience did Not build confidence rather provided good information should I encounter that situation.

Feeling super confident may lead one to becoming complacent.
